Gambling vs Betting

You might think that there is zero difference between “Gambling and Betting”.

To tell you the truth, I didn’t think there was much of a difference between the two either, but after picking loser-after-loser/over-and-over again, I began to realize that there is – in fact – a difference between “Gambling” and “Betting”.

The difference all comes down to strategy.

You see, when I first started gambling, my ‘bets’ were mostly based on my EMOTIONS.

When it comes to Betting On Sports, it’s important to keep your emotions out of the equation as you decide on which team you are going to bet on.

When it comes to betting with REAL MONEY, LOVE HAS ZERO VALUE, TEAM LOYALTY MEANS NOTHING, and EMOTIONS ARE TRASH.

Betting on Sports means one thing and one thing only… WINNING… PERIOD!

A long time ago, a good friend of mine who happened to be a Pro Sports Bettor got me to THINK, by asking me a simple but yet a good question…

“Is your goal to gamble on sports or to bet on sports?”

The more we talked the more the answer became clear. It was like a bottle-rocket bouncing off the walls inside of my head for a while, and then… it blew my mind.

You see, “GAMBLING on sports” is emotional, it’s like throwing darts at a board hoping and wishing that you hit a bullseye… or at the very least hit the board.

When you “BET on sports”, it’s REAL RESEARCH, because you do your homework, you study the game, you dissect the two sides of the ball: defense and offense, check on which players are on the injury list, check the forecast as game day approaches.

Crush-Tip:

It can be very advantageous to take the time and to actually ‘study injuries’ and ‘healing times’ to determine how effective a player may be after an injury as they get back out on the football field or back on the basketball court

On the day of the game, again, check the weather conditions, field conditions, and determine which team performs better under such climates.

Most important, watch the players themselves: are they interviewing well, do they look tight and nervous, or do they look loose and ready to go.

Look… it’s like this, if you’re gonna make a bet with your buddy for a beer – or – if you’re gonna bet on who pays for lunch at the local steakhouse, that’s cool, it’s fun, and nobody gets hurt.

But, if you are betting to make money, then it’s really important for you to get deep into the game, get on the field, get inside the players heads, as though you were in the locker room yourself, and get a ‘feel’ for what is going on with the teams and individual players.

Crush-Tip:

If you’re consistently WINNING YOUR BETS WITH YOUR BOOKIE, then it should never be a question as to who buys the beer or who pays for dinner… YOU JUST GRAB THE CHECK AND PAY WITH YOUR WINNINGS

As far as I am concerned, STATS have very little consequence when it comes to sports betting, though I do take STATS into consideration.

Actual Real-Time-Information is much more important and relevant to me, because REAL-TIME information allows me to actually ‘feel’ the players, ‘feel’ the game, and analyze the team.

Remember: It’s all about knowing the difference between “Gambling and Betting”.
